Anne Moir Singing is a Philadelphia-based vocal teaching and coaching studio specializing in contemporary and musical theater singing. Anne has been teaching students from all over the world in online and in-person lessons since 2021. She uses Belcanto opera concepts to teach students to deliver clear, consistent sound over an enormous range. It is an ideal singing method for soloists, musical theater performers, and ensemble singers.
It is a strain free system that can be used at full power for four hours a night, six nights a week.

Anne is an opera and musical theater trained singer, with experience as a soloist, backup singer and choir performer. She has studied Belcanto opera singing with Cantor/Dr Fred Scheff since 2017. Anne is also an New York Vocal Coaching (NYVC) certified voice teacher.
The NYVC training provides an anatomy based, point by point development of vocal techniques. It provides the ability to drill into specific issues you might have, and provide customized exercises to address expanding or fortifying your sound.
You will use songs of your choosing as tools to help learn technique. Each song is really its own 4 minute gymnastics routine, with its own needs and focuses. The songs are broken down, and you will learn the methods required to perform the different sections properly.
You will also learn to employ tools like spectrograms to show you how to tell when methods you are using are being done correctly. Don't guess.
Anne has over a decade of background in ballet, kung-fu and tai-chi. This in combination with modern Alexander Technique methods give useful tools for reducing and removing strain, as well as methods for communicating singing concepts to those who are physically oriented.
She uses business concepts like Kaizen "continuous improvement" in the process of teaching students to sing. Good singing is about building good habits and continuously refining them.
Anne is transgender, and works with transgender people as they work to manage changing how they present to the world. For FtM people, its primarily about learning to manage the physical changes to your vocal system and range. For MtF people, it is about learning to use head voice to speak in the same way as you would use for singing. This provides the additional benefit of your speaking and singing voices sounding consistent with each other!
